Lenka Křesadlová

Zprávy památkové péče 2024, 84(2):139-153 | DOI: 10.56112/zpp.2024.2.02

The composition of garden art heritage properties is usually a very dynamic organism with a number of developmental stages responding to contemporary trends. Implemented changes have often led to the disappearance and reconstruction of small garden architecture. Important sources of information about these changes include graphic works and descriptions related to their presentation and visitor traffic in gardens and parks. The aim of this article is to present the manifestations of this phenomenon in our territory and to place them in a European context. The means to achieve this goal was primarily the study of the mobiliary collections in the administration...

Zprávy památkové péče 2024, 84(2):185-196 | DOI: 10.56112/zpp.2024.2.05

A methodological procedure for the identification, documentation, and interpretation of extinct hammer mill sites is applied on the example of a case study. This procedure involves an interdisciplinary approach combining archival sources, cartographic sources, and aerial survey imagery. The case study presents the findings of a previously unknown hammer mill that operated in the 19th and 20th centuries near the village of Meziříčí in the Gratzen Mountains. The non-destructive archaeological approaches focused on the surface survey of anthropogenic relief formations, geodetic and photographic documentation, 3D documentation using photogrammetry and interpretation...

Buildings of Praga factory site in Vysočany: operational, structural and architectural designs

Lukáš Beran

Zprávy památkové péče 2024, 84(2):197-204 | DOI: 10.56112/zpp.2024.2.06

The study aims to examine the construction development and current state of an important Prague industrial area and, above all, to analyse the monumental values that its buildings bear. It assumes that the usual formal criteria are not sufficient for evaluation, and that it is necessary to place these buildings in other, more appropriate contexts – both in the specific domestic economic and political development and in the general, global development of building structures and technologies. The contents of the archival holdings, generated by the activities of local clients and the contractors working for them, were therefore confronted with contemporary...
