Archival cultural heritage properties and national cultural properties in the field of archives

The aim of this article is to introduce the legal institute of archival cultural heritage properties and national cultural heritage properties in the archival sector to the general public, especially from other memory institutions. The article is designed chronologically, showing the development of the institute and its transformations, pointing out the differences in the concept of cultural heritage properties in the field of archives and state heritage care. It recapitulates the procedural rules regulated by the legislation enabling increased protection and the promotion of archival materials included in this institute. It characterizes the stages that can be observed in the declaration of archival cultural heritage properties and national cultural heritage properties. The second part presents selected archival cultural heritage properties with emphasis on those declared in the last two decades.
