Renata Skřebská

The aim of this essay is to reflect on the 1920 competition for war memorials to the victims of the First World War and to highlight examples of monuments from Moravia and Silesia as well as some authors who were at war themselves, or who were affected by the loss of a loved one at war. The basic method of research was field surveys compared to contemporary literature and sources.
