Heritage care of a city in its green space. The renovation of structures and entire architectural aggregates of the 20th century in the municipal heritage zone and buffer zone of the municipal heritage reservation of Hradec Králové over the past years

The article attempts to highlight broader issues of the renovation of this fund, specific in many ways using concrete examples of the care of modern monuments and architectural complexes of the 20th century in the municipal heritage zone of Hradec Králové. At the same time, it endeavors to explain that it is both the consistent care and effort towards individuality and details as well as the urban elements in public space (municipal mobiliary, green space) that form a historically valuable whole. The article selectively highlights individual interventions over the last decade, both exterior and interior. It mentions the challenge of faćade color schemes, secondary thermal insulation, the replacement of window and door boxes, mobiliary restoration, technical installations, and the restoration of paintings and tiles, as well as addressing the planned interventions in the municipal heritage zone and the municipal buffer zone, and future planned and necessary renovations of heritage properties. When caring for architecture of the 20th century in a protected area, however, one must always bear in mind the value of the entire aggregate, since in this area the Hegelian ideal applies that the entire unit has greater importance than the individual items that comprise it.
