Hotel Intercontinental in Prague. History and the present in terms of heritage preservation
The article addresses the phenomenon of the Hotel Intercontinental in Prague, focusing mainly on the heritage extent of the building from its beginnings to the present day. It also touches on the architecture of the building in an attempt to define it and subsequently put it into the context of the period in relation to other buildings of the time. The text goes on to discuss the beginnings of its construction, the conditions under which it was built, and to a more detailed extent its authorship, which is not always clear-cut. The appearance and transformation of the interior is also briefly covered but is not the main focus of the article. It concludes with an overall assessment that emphasizes the high quality and necessity of heritage protection for the future.
