Graphic works as evidence of the development and presentation of monuments of garden art in the Czech Republic

The composition of garden art heritage properties is usually a very dynamic organism with a number of developmental stages responding to contemporary trends. Implemented changes have often led to the disappearance and reconstruction of small garden architecture. Important sources of information about these changes include graphic works and descriptions related to their presentation and visitor traffic in gardens and parks. The aim of this article is to present the manifestations of this phenomenon in our territory and to place them in a European context. The means to achieve this goal was primarily the study of the mobiliary collections in the administration of the Czech National Heritage Institute, supplemented by information from publicly accessible databases of other memory institutions and specialized literature. A chronological overview of found graphic albums and series relating to individual works of garden art was created, supplemented by information on existing contemporary descriptions and the organization of visitor traffic. In several cases, the authorship of the works or the object to which they relate was specified. Comparisons were made with the best known works of this genre in Europe. The issue has not yet been presented to this extent.
