Konopiště Castle in the first years of ownership by Franz Ferdinand d'Este - interior transformations as a reflection of life changes

The study, based on the analysis of planning documentation and castle inventories, presents a reconstruction of the interior layout of Konopiště Castle (Benešov district) and its changes during the first years of ownership by Franz Ferdinand d'Este (after 1887). It thus partly covers the condition of the castle interiors from the time of the Lobkowicz family and shows the gradual changes in the names, functions, and layout of individual rooms during the 1890s. It thus serves as a reflection not only of the professional and personal changes in the life of Franz Ferdinand d'Este and the associated new demands on the castle interiors. The study concludes with the possibilities of using the information obtained in the presentation of the monument.
