The article examines the potential of an economically available method of reconstructing a three-dimensional shape of an original in a digital environment based on intersecting photogrammetry from the perspective of registering movable culturally valuable property. It first places the method into a context of current and historical methods of recording movable cultural property. It then briefly describes the principles of its operation and compares it with the very accurate method of documentation using laser scanning. The comparison is based on the evaluation of volume differences and shows that in terms of accuracy, this method has its rightful place among the methods of documenting the shape of an item of interest. The study concludes by describing the limits of the method, especially for complex and/or non-contrasting originals.
