František Schmoranz Jr.'s contribution to the study of stucco decoration of the Hvězda Summer Palace

The article evaluates the co-authorship of František Schmoranz Jr. on the first printed plans of the underground and the ground floor with outlined compositions of the ceilings of the Hvězda Summer Palace which was published in 1872 by Wilhelm Lübke. The text presents previously unexplored charcoal drawings by František Schmoranz Jr. preserved in the State Regional Archive in Chrudim, which capture the stucco decoration on the ground floor of the Summer Palace; it also analyzes the purpose for which these studies could serve. Schmoranz's drawings of the Hvězda Summer Palace stucco work are among the first documents of "Czech" professional interest in the stucco decoration of a leading Czech Renaissance monument.
