Hořejší ironworks in Dobřív, mining areas in Mirošov, extinct mills and hammermills in Padrť, site of the former ironworks and carriage works in Holoubkov
As part of the current phase of area research of industrial complexes, technical monuments, and buildings in and around Podbrdy, an archival and field survey was conducted of the area around the Strousberg railroad in the Dobřív-Mirošov section. The railroad was built in 1872 by Prussian businessman Bethel Henry Strousberg (1823-1884) with the goal of connecting older and newly built industrial complexes. The track was never completed, since Strousberg was stopped by his own bankruptcy in 1875. The paper focuses on the Hořejší (upper) ironworks in Dobřív, the vast undermined area around the town of Mirošov, and a survey of its montane structures. The article also mentions important areas lying outside the track, for example the now-extinct mills and hammermills in the village of Padrť. The article concludes with ironworks in the village of Holoubkov and the realization of a project for the construction of workers' colonies and a carriage works as well as a later cellulose factory in Holoubkov.
