Methods for evaluating the level of threat to heritage structures presented by selected natural and anthropogenic influences
The article presents a procedure for comprehensively assessing the level of threat to heritage structures presented by natural and anthropogenic influences. Such an assessment is conducted on the basis of available databases, spatial mapping analyses, field investigations, and process modeling for individual threatening influences. For the overall assessment of the condition, the multi-criteria analysis method is chosen, which takes into account the varying severity of the effects of the assessed risks and their mutual interaction. The results of the analysis then enable an objective mutual comparison of the degree of vulnerability of the properties and therefore a more efficient channeling of funds towards the protection of cultural heritage.
